This page contains a log of events that transpired during our gaming sessions. It has been summarized based on the events that I felt were important. This log should be a great source of adventure ideas for anyone who has downloaded the various NPCs and villains from the site.
 | Survivor Subplot Part 1 - While sitting idle at his desk the legendary
superhero head of UNTIL in San Francisco notices strange allocations being
forwarded to a local pregnancy clinic. He calls his second in command, Maria
Chow, but she does not know anything about the situation. Survivor decides
to investigate. At the site he meets Dr Morpeth who is giving strange medicine to pregnant woman who have come in from off the street. Angered Survivor tells the Dr to stop and close up. He then proceeds back to UNTIL where he questions the Dr in charge of the project. Dr Baker feigns ignorance but Survivor is relentless. Survivor then contact his commander, General Hawkins, who denies knowledge of the project even though this seems unlikely. Survivor then returns to the clinic with Agent Chow to collect the sera. When he opens the safe it suddenly explodes sending the building up in flames. Survivor is effectively untouched but Maria is unconscious and a bit singed. A "fortunate" news camera catches Survivor leaving the scene with Maria in his arms. As Maria awakens the pair instantly realize that Survivor has been setup by UNTIL. They part and he quickly returns home to gather his things. Feng Subplot - While searching for a place to live the nearly immortal
creator of Tai Chi stumbles on some thugs who appear intent on robbing a
small man wearing a green silk jacket and carrying expensive packages. Feng
moves to help the man by soundly defeating the thugs. After defeating the
thugs the grateful man introduces himself as Frederic Fagin and asks Feng if
he wishes to come to house for some tea. Feng ends up staying with the
Fagin's! He becomes a chef to pay for his room and board. | Survivor Subplot Part 2 - Once he arrives at his plush penthouse he
gathers his things and starts to head out. At the door he is surprised when
Lady Love, his thought dead teammate, teleports in and tells him UNTIL is
coming up the elevator! The two flee from the building and return to the
Fagin house. | At his house the two are met by Freddy Fagin and Feng. Survivor realized Frederic Fagin is the former crime boss, Fox. The group catches up on some history. Smith - While looking around SF Smith decides to check the local kludge
shop. After all one never knows what useful things one might fight when
searching through other people's junk! At the shop, Pieces of 0100,
Smith meets the owner, Pete, and a friend of his who works at Surcom (i.e.
Dan). They talk about a new security system that has been installed at a
local museum. Smith decides to take a look... | "Jeff" - Gets a call in his shop from his government contact,
Maria Chow. The coded message informs him that there is a meeting at the
American Legion Museum in SF. Jeff decides to go and figure out what is
going on... | Scene #1 - At the museum they are showing Egyptian artifacts. While
Survivor, Maria, Feng, and Jeff are talking they hear a commotion from one
of the rooms. Smith is meandering around at the time. When the group moves
to investigate they see a small girl who gets magically "sucked"
into a nearby sarcophagus. After a brief moment a woman in Egyptian pharaoh
garb appears! She says something finding her lost love in a strange language
that they seem to be able to understand. After this the woman animates some
mummies. The group moves to stop the mummies. Jeff ego attacks the woman but
surprisingly feels the mind of the little girl and attacked her instead.
This seems to clear the head of the pharaoh and she decides to flee. The
group wraps up the assault and decides to talk about it at a local diner.
(Smith follows the group.) | Scene #2 - After doing some research the group discovers that the woman is
Hapshetsut, an ancient pharaoh. They also discover that an artifact that
belonged to her lover is being held at the Rosicrucian Museum in San Jose.
The team drives down in a car provided by the Fagin's. (Again Smith follows
them.) | In San Jose the team enters the museum just before the pharaoh. They find the artifact and wait. Minutes later she comes flying into the room. Hapshetsut threatens the heroes and moves towards the artifact. From the side of the room a strange magical doorway opens and DEMON agents emerge! There are some powered armored agents and some dressed in robes. After some combat the DEMON agents appear to be helping Hepshetsut. One of them even tells the little girl,Nanet, to stop resisting! At this point it is apparent that the little girl is again awake and confusing the woman. In a climactic scene Survivor grabs Hapshetsut. In a fit of rage she lets loose with a huge explosion of power and light! The attack sends the heroes reeling and is so devastating that is kills some normal museum goers in a connecting chamber. With that Survivor becomes upset and slam her into a far wall. With another well placed ego attack from Jeff the woman falls. When she falls she turns into the little girl again. The little girl, Nanet, is thankfully not hurt. The DEMON agents take this as a sign to leave and the woman dives through the door. Jeff rushes after her through the door but the others decide to help the wounded. The door closes… Where is Jeff? |
| Survivor and Feng make sure everything is ok at the museum. Smith sneaks
away.| Jeff finds himself falling through the strange portal. While falling
through the portal Jeff has Visions of pizza flapping like birds with
“That’s Amore” playing in the background, strange black obelisk, a
scene with pine trees and a 4”x4” post with the top painted white, a
green neon sign that says “Public Parking”, and a blue flag with a white
running horse. As he nears the opening he sees the woman Demon agent and a
strange black man with a skull tattooed to his face. The portal closes while
a high pitch laughter fills his ears… | That night Survivor (and Smith from his mobile home) listen to a James
Dugan news broadcast about the museum fight. The broadcast is not very
flattering and only details the bad results of the encounter. Three museum
goers are dead. Nanet is without parents. Jimmy pleads with the heroes to
return Nanet’s as she is likely inconsequential in whatever super fight
they are conducting. As the broadcast ends Survivor is questioned by Lady
Love. The chat for a bit about how turning public opinion of them is going
to be a long hard battle. | Jeff wakes up in a coffin like box filled with weights. He feels like he
is on the water and starting to sink! Quickly Jeff breaks out of the box to
find himself north of San Francisco on the rocky coast. He hitchhikes back
to SF as a beautiful woman then calls his lover, Janice, to pick him up.
Janice questions Jeff why he did not come home the previous night? | There is a small earthquake the next morning. The new reports it on the
Hayward Fault. | Smith reads an article about the new Surcom 7.1b system. While reading the
article and listening to the radio he hears that there is a new computer
virus spreading over the net. The virus is called “Skull and
Crossbones”. Remembering what he hear about Peter the owner of Pieces
of 0100 Smith heads over to take a look. He briefly talks to Pete’s
friend, Dan, then follows some FBI agents to Pete’s house. At the house he
spots an observer. After some careful maneuvering he discovers it is Pete!
He picks up the wanted man and lets him borrow his laptop. Pete discovers
that the virus is really wimpy and even contains his hacker alias, Black
Beard, imbedded in the messages. Pete concludes that the virus itself is
very amateurish but that the source of the virus is surprisingly well
hidden. Smith and Pete are very confused by this as there is no apparent
motivation. | Survivor gets a call from Maria. She lets him know that a book was stolen
from the vault. Maria is concerned as the culprit appears to have used
molecular level disguise skills as well as mental powers. The man used
fingerprint and a badge from Dr Raymond Lin. The book was brought by someone
from the Vatican named Jonathan Little. It was being stored for security
reasons at their site. Jonathan planned to speak with an expert at SF
Univeristy. | Maria also mentions that she will be out of touch for a while. There is a
breakout at San Quentin. Seems like one of the prisoners manifested ice
powers and has escaped. | Jeff gets dressed the next morning and discovers the start of a strange
tattoo on his back. The tattoo seems to disappear at first. He calls
Survivor through Maria and sets up a meeting. He also finds a strange white
lab coat and an UNTIL security badge for a Dr Raymond Lin. | When he questions Janice about it she does not know about the lab coat.
She also sees the tattoo which seems to have magically appeared again! Jeff
then starts to scour the city streets looking for the guy man he saw in the
strange tunnel. This causes him to miss his meeting with Survivor. | Now on the case of the book Survivor and Feng head towards SF University.
On the way they meet up with Jeff. At the university they talk to a local
professor and Jonathan Little who happens to already be at his office. While
talking a group of DEMON Mech Agents and Warriors appear! It seems that they
are attempting to capture the experts(s). After defeating the men Jeff
probes them and discovers that they are supposed to bring the book to the
6th Street Mission Church. | |
| Scene #1 - Feng, Survivor, and Jeff drive to the church. Smith who happens
to be passing by sees a commotion outside and stops his mobile home to
investigate. After entering the church the group finds more DEMON agents.
The woman from the museum appears to be reading from the Book Of Souls while
the voodoo doctor, Marrow, observes. Even though Marrow has Jeff in some
sort of voodoo spell the group manages to defeat the minions including a
summoned bone golem. Unfortunately one of the Warriors manages to grab
Marrow and jump through a dimensional door. Jeff follows as does Feng and
Smith. After hiding the book in the rafters of the church and collecting
some “alms” from the fallen DEMON agents Survivor follows the heroes
into the doorway.| Scene #2 – The group starts attacking DEMON agents inside their base!
The walls are a charcoal gray color and strange paintings which shoot deadly
attacks adorn the walls. After a pitched battle the team manages to force
the agents into a running battle through the base! While the PC fight DEMON
personnel appear to be fleeing upstairs. During the battle Marrow calls Jeff
“Rian”. | |
| The group fights their way through the DEMON base all the while chasing
Marrow. Dangerous pictures which shoot out spells make the path deadly. The
combat is intense and tiring for many of the PC.| Eventually the PC reach the top level with Marrow just in front of them.
Chan phases through the wall to catch them by surprise. Jeff cleverly
disguises himself as a mech agent and runs through the bockade unscathed.
Following his lead Smith dons a set of mech gear. At another level Survivor
is unscathed by three direct DEMON hits and cows the agents into
surrendering. | The ground begins to shake. The PC realize that Marrow has set some sort
of self-destruct on the base. In another room computers appear to be
deleting their contents. | Marrow manages to catch Chan in a lucky entangle shot. This allows his
bone golem a chance to smash the martial artist. The golems attack manages
to break the entangle and barely harm Chan! Bad roll! Chan is taken down by
some agents. At the same time Smith jumps on Marrow and Jeff psionic blasts
him. The two subdue the evil voodoo priest. | After taking down Marrow several of the PC aid some agents then dive into
the portal. Jeff and Survivor are the only ones left when Survivor decides
that he must return to some of the lower levels to rescue those people who
they knocked out. Jeff says he wants to help but Survivor will not have it
and TK's Jeff through the portal. | When the base breaks apart Survivor tumbles through another dimension. The
PC think he is lost... | |
| As the team appears from the portals Marrow vanishes. Chan, Smith, and
Jeff finds themselves at Golden Gate Fields in a restroom! Chan and Smith
proceed back to the Fagin house in a car summoned by Smith. Jeff calls
Janice and waits for a pickup.| While waiting Jeff finds a piece of blue hair in Marrow's cane. He burns
the hair. This apparently removes the tattoo on his back. In the bathroom
several minutes later Survivor appears but he is unconcious and appears
"singed". Jeff procures a coat and takes Survivor back to his and
Janice's apartment. | Chan and Smith head to the church. Finding nothing of note and not being
able to approach the scene of the crimes they leave. They pickup Pete (i.e.
the notorious hacker BlackBeard) and move him to a new hotel. | Eventually Survivor wakes up. On his arms, legs, and back are strange
black marks. Janices returns with Mr. McCully, a street doc, but they
dismiss him when Survivor appears to be recovered. He dons his costume and
the duo depart for the church. | At the Fagin house Chan introduces Freddy and Laura to Smith. Although
cautious at first they take to Smith and invite him to dinner where they can
talk about supers. | After picking up the Tome Of Souls from the church Survivor and Jeff
return to the Fagin's. They join the others for dinner. | At dinner the Fagin's reveal that they are really Lady Love and Fox. They
also ask about the other PC and where they got their powers. After dinner
they talk about their goal of returning things to how they were in the past.
All of the PC are not totally on board but most have some angle that endears
them to the team. | After dinner Smith explains the plight of his friend Pete. How he is being
framed by someone and is being wrongly hunted by the FBI. The group decides
to bring Pete to the house secretly...of course with Pete blindfolded. Lady
Love and Smith head out to get Pete. | On the way Smith discovers that Pete is being held against his will. The
two end up having to blind the agents and knock them out to rescue Pete. | When they get back to the Fagin house Pete explains that there have been
two other online attacks that have been attributed to "BlackBeard".
One attack is against Surcom. According to Dan, Pete's friend who works at
the company, Surcom did not really lose any important data. The other attack
was against Alarm Tech, a different security company. This attack is rumored
to have been much more successful with several chip designs stolen.
Coincidentally Alarm Tech plans to have a press conference for this chip the
following day at the Moscone Center. | |
| A space craft crash landed in the central valley and has been confiscated
by UNTIL. No alien was found.| Bernard Washington, the convict who exhibited ice powers, got away when he
received aid from a flying robot which Maria describes as a "weapons
platform". | A vigilante known as Raven has struck again. Police found a body crucified
to a brick wall with black energy bands around his legs and arms. Pinned to
the lifeless corpse is a note that says, "Wife Beater". | |
| The gang shows up at the Moscone Center to observe the release of
AlarmTech’s new chip. Several of the PC are in disguise. Survivor waits in
the wings.| The president of AlarmTech, Napoleon Pantley, with the marketing director,
Kelly Tyler, and the development director, Rao Suhereddy, lead the press
release of what they have code named “Project Undale”. The general data
reveals that the chip design is 20% faster than the fasted chip from Surcom
and 50% faster than their previous releases. During the presentation the
president of Surcom, Cris Carson, enter the room. | After the general discussion the technical team shows some screenshots of
the product running. This draws ooh’s and ahh’s from the crowd. At this
moment Chan San Feng notices Mr. Carson tap his pocket then see if move! In
a flash the server in the front of the room starts to smoke and pop! | While the techs start to panic and the crowd gasps the doors to the room
fly open. Three supervillains enter the room! Leading the villains is a
Neanderthal looking man in a lab jacket, Dr. Mayhem. With him is a robot
which is named ANVil (Artificial Nuclear Villain) and the escaped convict
with ice powers, Bernard Washington. Bernard has started calling himself
Chiller. The Dr. appears upset when he finds that the chip has failed. | Survivor then busts into the room and orders the criminals to give up.
Chiller looks worried and the Dr. call for the team to, “cut and run.”
With that Chiller weakens the ceiling with a freezing touch and Dr. Mayhem
shakes the walls. Survivor proceeds to knock the villains with his
telekinetic fists! Feng grabs the robot and carries him out of the room.
Smith and Jeff move into position. | As the fight moves outside of the room the villains start to fight back
and run. Dr. Mayhem appears to be getting angrier after each attack! During
a fit of rage he haymakers Smith across the room. Feng and Survivor continue
to press the attack with a lot of success. Jeff KO’s Chiller with several
painful mind attacks. | As the running fight goes into and out of the roof several times Survivor
puts out a tree which has caught fire and Smith recovers. Jeff begins to
mentally probe Cris Carson for information. He discovers that Cris Carson
does not know the villains and that he caused the meltdown of the AlarmTech
chip using some sort of “spell”. Acting on this data Smith turns into
the DEMON woman agent and threatens Carson. This frightens Carson! Out of
his pocket a small red gremlin looking creature fires a blast of psychic
hellfire from a tiny pitchfork. It misses Jeff but attracts the attention of
Survivor. Survivor grabs Carson and Pantley and moves them to safety. Jeff
runs to change. | Feng, Smith, and Survivor return to the Fagan house and talk with Pete.
They decide to relax in the hot tub. The group comes to the conclusion that
Surcom is likely the ones who framed Pete. Thus they decide to investigate
further to see if they can gain some more information about the men. Jeff
meets up with Janice and the two of them find an underground superhero
newspaper called the Daily Planet to report what REALLY happened at the
Moscone Center. They also tell the paper that Carson has a gremlin. | During this time a police radio in the house alerts the group that there
are supervillains spotted at AlarmTech in Santa Clara. The team flies to the
scene in a Smith summoned helicopter only to find that there are no supers
present. Pete finds out from the police report that there is a Japanese gas
woman and a gecko looking alien in a silver suit. The report also mentions
video footage. Survivor contacts Maria Chow and she delivers a copy of the
tape for the PC to observe. Smith recognizes the woman as Vapor, a master
thief that he knew when he was in the "business". The alien seems
to be able to create dish sized portals. | The PC then group up to gather their data. Jeff reveals his information
about the gremlin and turns into it to show the team. This shocks Smith as
he recognizes the gremlin as a spitting image of the statuette that broke
and gave him his super summoning power! He does not reveal this to the PC. | Armed with this data the PC decided to break into Surcom and plant a
computer so they can gather information to clear Pete. Smith summons a copy
of Carson’s Mercedes and Jeff does the rest. During the visit Jeff grabs
some paperwork about a possible merger and sends it to AlarmTech. The PC
leave with the hacker computer link hooked up… | |
| Smith and Jeff are returning from Surcom when Survivor gets a call on his
private cell link with Maria. Maria sounds frantic as she conveys the fact
that the prison ship which is transporting Doctor Mayhem and Chiller is
sinking! The call is cut when her cell phone goes dead. Survivor and Chan
San Feng meet with the rest of the team and head to the sinking boat in a
Smith summoned copter.| At the scene the heroes see the UNTIL transport craft list heavily to the
port side. The hull is quickly filling with water! Jeff and Chan San jump
off the copter while Survivor starts moving agents into the copter. Smith
does a great job flying the copter in difficult rainy weather. | Chan San starts to rescue agents below decks. Maria calls out for a rescue
ship. Jeff begins to examine the damage to the ship as an UNTIL agent. He
finds four holes about 1’ in diameter below the waterline. Jeff dives into
the water and attempts to enter the hull through one of the holes. Changing
into a thin human aids in the process. | As Chan San enter Chillers cell he finds a frantic man. The two can’t
open the manacles which seem to be restricting his ice powers. Chan San and
Maria charge downstairs and open Chiller’s cell. While leaving Chiller
tries to hit Commander Chow but she simply blocks the attack then threatens
to shoot the convict. Chiller becomes passive after being threatened. Doctor
Mayhem goes without incident. He seems very intrigued by the heroes. | After filling the chopper with agent Survivor and Smith head towards
Alcatraz. Along the way Survivor grabs the ship in his TK attempting to pull
the entire craft along with them! As ship starts to pull towards the small
island Survivor reels in pain! Smith observes black tentacle shaped energy
emerging from Survivor’s back as he struggles with the massive vessel. The
two do not discuss the event for the rest of the session. | Once reaching Alcatraz the agents are delivered to safety and the ship is
grounded. Jeff and Maria begin to research the damage. Jeff finds part of a
small motor and casing. He does not inform Maria of the find. Maria thinks
that the holes look like they are made from small torpedoes. A large torpedo
would have made a much larger hole. Maria also makes the conclusion that the
attacks were not made to destroy the ship otherwise bigger weapons would
have been used. She deduces that it could be a rescue attempt. The only
problem with the story is that no villains appeared… | When the group returns to the Fagan house they find that Pete has finished
his hacking. He describes the event in a lot of detail. Pete was able to
learn the following. Pete found the program that was used to create the
first virus. This should clear his name. He started to download information
about something called, “Project Omega Hussle”, when he was forced out
by another hacker. This other hacker was known as, “dAEmoN”. Pete
claimed that this guy was extremely good and responded to his advances in an
almost blinding precognitive fashion. | The PC investigate the information from the “Project Omega Hussle”
file but they can only deduce that the information is some type of complex
genetic formula. Jeff relays that Omega, aka Omega Brain, aka Dr. Omega, is
a known supervillain who has dabbled in genetics. Jeff also knows that
probably the most learned geneticist on the planet is Dr. Mayfair, aka Dr.
Mayhem, whom they just rescued. | |
Smith's personal log
For an "Artificial" Nuclear Villian, that hunk of scrap sure took a
lot of punishment. Frankly, I'm afraid of the possible upgrades...

| The next day Maria meets with Jeff and they setup a meeting with the Dr.
Mayhem on Stonghold. Jeff is disguised as a Chinese UNTIL doctor. He uses
the badge that he discovered in his apartment in an earlier adventure. Along
the way Jeff sees several of the superheroes the team has captured and
Reactor. Mayhem is being held in a low security cell as he is not convicted
of any crimes yet. He is merely awaiting his trial. The pair approach the
Dr. and ask for his help. After laughing for a bit Dr. Mayhem asks for
consideration to be made in his trial for helping out UNTIL. Reluctantly
Maria agrees. At that point Mayhem is shown the formula. After considering
the information carefully he tells the Jeff and Maria the following details.
The formula is a stimulant that takes effect over an extended period of
time. During this time the person would not be tired and feel essentially no
fatigue. The drug is highly addictive. It would also likely pass under most
chemical detectors being employed by security agents. Finally he conveys
that producing the chemical would take VERY high end test gear. Stuff that
is only produced by one company, Finnegan Scientific. Jeff deduces that
Carson plans to use it to make an ultra efficient work force which would be
addicted to his drug.| With this information Jeff and Smith head to Finnegan Scientific disguised
as reporters for BioTech Weekly. They take a look at a device in
construction and ask lots of questions. The pair discovers that there are
two of the machines in the Bay Area. One is at UCSF and the other is at
Stanford Research Institute. They decide to cruise to Stanford and take a
look. | When they arrive at the scene they see a Finnegan van pull up! Jeff walks
over and asks for a light. During the process he touches the man and
discovers that he is extremely worried. The men enter the building leaving
the van. Surprisingly Jeff and Smith find the van to be empty. The Finnegan
men return with a device on a dolly. Smith and Jeff follow the men in
Carson’s BMW. | The men lead them to an old boarded up theater. From there the two call
for backup. Survivor, Chan San, and Maria arrive at the theater minutes
later. Smith goes around back while Chan San takes to the roof. The rest
plan to break through the front door. | Inside the team finds a group of scientists conducting experiments under
the watchful eye of Dr. Omega. Several villains are also around. As the
fight ensues it quickly turns chaotic. Survivor takes on the mysterious
Omega, a blue woman known as Jinx, and a black fellow known as Amp. Chan San
takes on a winged armored man who is known as Zadkiel. A large man with
steel skin known as Slag approaches the fight slowly. Jeff seems angry and
attacks Omega. Maria shoots at Zadkiel and pops a smoke grenade for
protection. Smith sneak attacks a strange green fellow with see-through skin
who is sitting in a lotus position. Later the team would learn that this
fellow is known as Protoplasm. During the fight a sneaky rat man known as
Vermin moves to surprise the heroes. | Chan San and Smith quickly take down Zadkiel and Protoplasm without much
trouble. After taking out Zadkiel Chan San plants a massive kick on Omega
which sends him sprawling into a nearby wall! The group realize that Omega
is a robot being controlled by a floating brain. The kick manages to short
out Omega’s legs and arms. This forces Omega to flee. Jeff changes into a
male version of Jinx then begins to talk with her. She seems pacified.
Survivor wraps up Amp in the theater movie screen then uses him as a club.
This takes out Amp. Maria duels with Vermin who narrowly takes her out. Chan
San then dispatches Vermin. Slag now has heated metal hands. He melts
through a row of theater seats then punches Survivor with red hot metal
hands. The effect is devastating! It knocks out Survivor. The other quickly
subdue Slag who is the only villain standing at the time. | As the combat is ebbing Jeff begins to leave with Jinx. Survivor tells
Jeff to stop. He explains that Jinx is a criminal who must be arrested. Jeff
disagrees and tells Survivor to let it go. Survivor tells Jeff that is he
leaves he should not return. Jeff leaves with Jinx. | When more UNTIL agents arrive the PC leave the scene. | |
| Jinx and Jeff start chatting about Omega while they waltz away from the
theater melee. During the conversation Jeff asks about where she lives. Jinx
plays coy and says she can’t tell him. Jeff gets an image of a large
mansion when he touches Jinx and uses his telepathy. On Jinx’s request the
pair to go shopping at Macy’s in Union Square. During the taxi ride Jinx
hangs her head out the window and waves at people on the street. Jeff asks
more questions and comes to the quick decision that Jinx is extremely naïve.
She refers to Omega as “Father” several times which makes Jeff very
frustrated. When the pair reaches Macy’s the Jinx slyly hexes the taxi so
it breaks down. As she exits she refuses to pay the driver. Jeff pays the
man. Inside Macy’s the pair draws a lot of attention. Jeff yells at Jinx
in the elevator when she keeps commenting that Omega is Jeff’s Father.
Jinx wanders through the dress department looking for dresses that match her
bright blue skin and white hair. She finds one she likes and hexes the
electronic security tab so it snaps open. Jeff changes into Cris Carson the
pays. During this time Jeff discovers that Omega is researching superpowers.
According to Jinx he wants to help people with this knowledge. Jeff then
let’s Jinx phone Omega. Jinx tells the person on the other end of the line
that she is at Macy’s. The pair leave before Omega arrives. They meet
Janice and return to their house.| Janice is floored with the blue skinned woman but tells Jeff he will watch
her while he goes out to ask about Omega on the streets. Before he leaves
Jinx accidentally shorts out his com unit. When Jeff returns Jinx has
somehow tied Janice in cords, loose clothing, and sheets! Jinx is gone. | When the rest of the PC return to the house Pete is watching TV. He
explains that he plans to turn himself into the FBI. He does not want to be
hunted forever. Some of the PC think this is not a good idea but he seems
determined. | The PC hear about an accident at a wind tunnel at the Moffet Air Base in
Mountain View. | The PC then catch a news report from Jimmy Dugan. The report shows close
up images of the entire UNTIL prison transport rescue. The footage appears
to be taken from the waterline. It shows several of the PC saving various
UNTIL agents. Jimmy conveys that the tape was anonymously delivered. | The PC head that Raven has struck again in East Palo Alto this time. The
victim is tied to a freeway underpass using a black cord. A note on his
chest says, “Pedophile”. There is a USB RAM device tied to his chest. | Chan San returns to Chinatown to check on the family and Xiang Fu at the
herb shop. He sees the patriarch Hsu returning to his apartment. He looks
disheveled. When he enters the show Xiang explains that he is not what he
seems. Xiang then leads Chan San through a trap door then a secret door. In
an underground chamber Chan San sees a very strange sight. In the wall
opposite the hallway opening is a tiny doll sized man sitting in a small
niche. The man emits a blinding white light. As he approaches he notices
that his long white hair is growing into several roots which extend out of
the wall. The tiny many explains that he is Wei Zhu. This takes Chan San
back into his past. He recalls a student of his almost 800 years ago named
Wei Zhu. The figure then calls Chan San his master which makes Xiang Fu
start with surprise! Wei Zhu explains that he has sensed a great evil in the
world. This evil has emerged mere days ago. He also explains that something
good has also been released to counter the evil but he does not have any
information on either event. This concerns Chan San. After some talk with
the man about the Golden Child and their past lives Chan San returns to the
house to get some rest. | |
| Jeff visits the Daily Planet where he speaks with the editor,
Adrian “Perry” Nesmith, and their ace reporter, Tracy “Lois” Baxter.
Adrian and Tracy are excited about the photos which they quickly buy. Adrian
asks Jeff is he wants to be a reporter for the rag but he turns him down.
Jeff does ask for a nice digital camera. Adrian agrees but only if Jeff
submits pictures and uses the profits to pay off some of the cost for the
camera. Jeff agrees. During the visit Tracy mentions that she is doing a
story on Raven and that a picture of her would be worth it’s weight in
gold!| The rest of the PC start to have breakfast at the house. During the meal
Smith questions Survivor about those "cool" black tentacles he saw
on his back during the boat rescue. Smith then asks him to pull down his
powered suit so they can check out his back. They find black streak marks on
his back. When Chan San turns to deliver their meal he drops his tray. Chan
sees a strange shadowy black creature with tentacles that is trying to pull
itself away from Survivor! The other PC claim not to see the creature. Chan
makes a deduction based partly on the information from Wei Zhu that
Survivor’s return from the DEMON base through the other dimension must
have allowed another creature to escape. Chan tells the PC that they must
see someone he knows in Chinatown. Jeff returns to the house to replace his
communicator. He finds the rest of the PC leaving in a rush. | The PC then visit Wei Zhu as a group. He peers at Survivor then tells the
PC that he holds the evil he has sensed. After examining some incomplete
ancient scrolls Wei Zhu and Chan San Feng determine that the only way to
free the evil spirit from Survivor is to kill him! Wei Zhu explains that
finding the rest of the scrolls would likely help enlighten the situation.
Chan San studies the scrolls in depth to learn more. | When the PC return to the mobile home Maria calls. It appears that a
villain has called the media and told them about a robbery he plans to
commit at the San Francisco Mint! The PC race to the scene. | At the scene the PC find out that several animated toys are attempting to
rob the mint! The toys include tanks, robots, a teddy bear, and Raggedy Ann.
The toys have stunned several guards and a Raggedy Ann doll who can only
say, “WHEEEE!”, is cutting through the vault. Smith tells Raggedy Ann
that he is gonna bring her in. The PC easily defeat the stun gun wielding
toys with the help of an invisible superhero! All the while Jeff is snapping
photographs. The hero claims to be from UNTIL and begs Survivor to give up.
Survivor attempts to enlighten the super by informing him of the fact that
he just helped him stop the mint thieves. The super seems unwilling to let
go. The PC leave in a summoned police car from Smith knowing that the wind
fellow is likely following them. As they leave Jeff grabs two of the toys. | The PC split up in an attempt to lose the wind super. Chan San hangs out
for noodles, Jeff goes to a mall, and Smith and Survivor head to the Golden
Gate Bridge. The pair jump off into the bay. The wind super follows Survivor
into the water. In the water bubbles from the super can be observed.
Survivor ends up walking to a nearby coast where he talks with the super.
After some conversation with Survivor and Maria Chow the wind super know
known as Windage leaves the scene. Survivor simply walks back into the water
to meet with the other PC. | Only hours later the PC see another news report. This time it is footage
from security cameras in the mint. It appears that someone was watching
through the internal security cameras. A couple of the PC note that the
footage is cut so that Survivor shows up a bit more prominently. Survivor
comments that someone wants this publicized. During the news report UNTIL
responds with a message that only the presence of one of their new heroes
known as Windage prevented the robbery. | Windage returns to Maria’s office. He starts to yell at her for what
happened and the lack of support in capturing Survivor! She yells back at
him for disobeying her orders. Even though she is yelling her features are
very controlled. Maria hands Windage a phone number on a small slip of
paper. Windage leaves in a gust… | |
| Maria meets with Survivor at the Diner. She nods to the short order cook
behind the counter. Maria hands Survivor a CD with information on the
villains they faced in the previous adventure. She also comments about
recent events and mentioned that the cook is “with her” and that he has
a useful “talent” that will make it safe for them to chat.| Thaddeus Long, a wealthy investor, has purchased the San Francisco 49ers. | There is a brief news report that details the accounts of Pete Shinkevich,
the hacker friend of the PC, who has turned himself into the authorities.
Smith visits a local law firm to make sure Pete has the best people on his
case. He hires the lawyer secretly. Smith also sets up a message chain
through the lawyer. | A new gang known as the Halloween Party has appeared in the Oakland
barrio. The gang has wild parties on a full moon that often cause excessive
property damage and many arrests. | Jeff examines the RC toys. He can only determine a few things about the
devices as his experience is limited to Computer Programming. The brains in
the devices are very small. In fact the simply follow the last command given
over the radio. They have only three programs which are: attack, move to GPS
location X, and follow last command. Each device MUST be controlled
remotely. Jeff calls the maker of the radio transmitter and finds that they
have a range of about a 1/2 mile. | |
| Chan San investigate the scrolls in more detail. He discovers that as
said, Survivor, must die for the spell to take effect. Chan San also finds
that there is part of a spell that can be used to contain the creature that
will escape from the body and stabilize Survivor’s soul while the spell is
underway. Another technicality is that the spell functions best under
certain phases of the moon. One of those phases is occurring tonight! A
second missing scroll has more information but it is not present.| After much concentration Wei Zhu is able to find the scrolls. To do this
he sends out strange energy waves from his hair into the surrounding roots.
Wei Zhu reports that the scrolls are found at a location very close to this
one. He explains that they are underground in a chamber. | The party ventures to the spot and finds a Chinese restaurant called the
Celestial Lion. Jeff sneaks around the place and finds what he thinks is the
entrance. He can’t get into the area because a large box obscures the
area. After the PC have lunch Chan San decides to simply ask the owner for
help. Smith is leery and thinks it is a bad decision. | Chan San meets with the owner of the place, a Ms. Lin Yao. When he enters
the room she is having lunch with several Chinese men in business suits.
Adam Hsu is one of the men at the table. After the lunch she talks in detail
with Chan San. She is intrigued by Chan San’s strange request and follows
him to the basement with her bodyguard, Chang Hu. After meeting the rest of
the PC they proceed to the basement. | Survivor moves the heavy boxes then Chan San sinks through the wall and
opens the door from the inside. Lin Yao is very surprised by Chan San and
mentions the fact. Inside the group finds the scrolls plus other odds and
ends from the Gold Rush period of San Francisco history. It appears that the
room was used as a hidden cache! Lin Yao summons Adam who appears to have
some knowledge in antiques. She begs the heroes to return again. As the PC
leave Smith comments that there has to be a catch…it was too easy. | Using the scrolls Chan San figures out that the creature can be returned
to his home realm. He and Wei Zhu start the spell. As the spell reaches
it’s peak Survivor enters the circle and removes his costume. Quickly he
falters and expires. It is a somber moment with the PC deep in their own
thoughts. First a white light emerges from Survivor. It hovers in the center
of the circle. Next the black tentacled creature emerges. It throws itself
at the protective barrier. Eventually it escapes from the circle! This send
Survivor’s soul spinning into the other dimension. Wei Zhu says that the
PC must enter the other dimension to save their compatriot. The party enters
the other dimension. | The PC appear in what appears to be a shiny new amusement part. Everything
they see is very clear. Survivor is peering around the corner of the booth
in his old costume! As they begin to gather themselves Smith, Jeff, and Chan
San see superimposed images over their bodies. Over Smith is a brown and
yellow costume with the letter “K” on the forehead (i.e. Kingbeast).
Chan San appears to be Lady Love but much younger. The image over Jeff is
that of an ice covered man with weird bat like ears (i.e. Ice Devil).
Survivor appears to believe that he is in a fight with his old team. Quickly
Survivor issues orders to the others then moves to attack. The villains are
his old arch foes, Terror Inc! Jeff is intrigued as he realizes that these
images are the old Reliance team. | The fight ensues quickly. Chan San, as Lady Love, fights Scorpia on the
roof of a merry-go-round. Jeff takes turns attacking Fuer and Giganto.
Survivor moves in and out of combat with Professor Muerte and Giganto. Smith
takes on Giganto and Professor Muerte. Eventually the PC manage to take out
the foes. After doing so they are spun out of the dimension to Wei Zhu’s
underground chamber. With a start Survivor sits up. He’s alive! | |
| Local construction magnate, Aristedes Pappagianis, is researching new
material technologies for a upcoming industrial park he is building on
Oyster Point. Pappagianis is the builder of Sony’s Metreon.| The accident reported at the Moffet wind tunnel has been classified as an
attempted murder. Footage delivered to the media shows the door to the wind
tunnel being locked when the rescuers proceeded to aid the victim. This
slowed down the progress of the rescuers and is shedding a different light
on the case. | Federal agents visited the home of the Daily Planet editor. They proceeded
to ask the editors about the source of their pictures and story content. The
editor protected his source. | The case against the notorious hacker Black Beard, aka Pete Shinkevich, is
in the preliminary stages. It is being handled by a very high-end criminal
law firm. | Fox and Lady Love return from visiting their daughter Sarah. They ask
about the PC adventures during the week. | |
| The story opens with the PC waiting to take part in a danger room scenario
created by their teacher, Shroud. (Shroud is a combat expert from UNTIL.)

As the PC wait the junior team exits. They appear worn and beaten. Sonic
tells Speedball not to say anything. Speedball simply snickers. They are
comprised of the following people: |
Before the danger room scenario starts the PC observe Headmistress Hentgen
arguing with Shroud about overworking the student on finals week. The
seniors enter the danger room and proceed to do very well. The mission
involved stopping some criminals who are barricaded in an apartment. In
reality the apartment is a trap filled with danger room droids. The team
proceeds to take down the droids without too much trouble. Sky Fire shows up
late to the debriefing. At the debriefing Shroud mentions that heroes must
always be on the lookout for traps like this, “things are often not what
they seem.” | The next scene happens outside of Professor Anka’s chemistry class. The
Professor tells the students that material will be on everything from the
entire semester. This makes Lemar a bit pissed off. Outside of the classroom
the PC observe the Headmistress chatting with the English teacher, Mrs.
Metnik. She seems upset after the conversation. When the PC ask about it
Principal Hentgen says that Mrs. Metnik and her planned a trip to Sante Fe
during the break but Mary forgot to book the room. It is not like Mrs.
Metnik to forget things. | That night Jake catches Lemar breaking into the chemistry classroom. Jake
tells Lemar he is a dork. The two of them observe a large creature
approaching the girls dorms with a bunch of wild animals. While Speedball
goes to the dorm Sonic raises an alarm and heads to the teacher’s dorm.
The PC protect the students and scare away the creature who appears to be a
large tree. The PC follow the tree. | After tracking the tree to a small grove several miles away they talk with
him. Tree tells the PC that he heard a loud “noise” in his head that
made him mad. He tells them that the noise came from their “house”. The
PC ask Tree for an animal to take back with them. Tree talks with a squirrel
who rides back with Val. | When the PC return the school residents are walking toward the main hall
in a zombie-like state. Just before entering Lila gives the PC headbands
which she explains will protect them from the devide. When they enter the
main hall they see Professor Anka and Mrs. Metnik on the stage with a
strange device. The device is enclosed in a green force field. The device is
apparently some type of mind control device! With that the Professor taunts
the PC then orders the junior heroes to attack them. Valkyrie flies into the
force field shattering it to the surprise of the teachers. With that the
teacher rip out of strange disguises and start attacking with the students.
They appear to be strange creatures with claws and talons. The PC fight
valiantly but are eventually fallen. Valkyrie takes a nasty blow from the
claws of Professor Anka. Speedball gets pummeled by Rant. Rave takes out Sky
Fire by sending her into a strange reality warp. With that the adventure
ended…who will save the Graymalkin Institute! | |
| While spending a relaxing night at home the phone rings. It is a girl
named Lila who goes to school with Sarah. She is frantic but describes a
bizarre situation where aliens have taken over the bodies of two of her
professors. As Laura prompts her for information the phone drops and the PC
can hear the sound of blaster fire!| Laura and Freddy then call all of their campus phone lines. At all
locations they get either answering machines or no answer. Even a special
emergency line directly to Shroud, one of the instructors at the school,
does not pickup. | Now worried Laura and Freddy decide to visit. They ask the PC to come
along in case there is trouble. The PC call Jeff on the phone but there is
no answer. They decide to leave without him. At this time Freddy reveals
that he has a high-end Lear jet that they can use as transportation. It was
put on mothballs at the end of his villainous career. The heroes laugh when
they find a brown jet with painted on dog ears. | At a little after midnight Smith lands the craft on a country road then
works with Survivor to hide it in a nearby group of trees with camouflage
netting. As the PC approach the Graymalkin Institute they see no movement.
They immediately discover terrible damage on the girl’s dormitory. They
also find scorch marks inside of Laura’s room. In the Administration
buildings they break in and analyze some security footage. The cameras show
zombie-like security guards slowly walking away from the building. The men
appear to be in some type of trance. They also discover combat damage inside
one of the large lecture halls. From the lecture hall the PC find a lot of
footsteps leading out into the woods. | The PC follow the trail to a small valley. Inside the valley is a silver
ship with a metallic green bubble top. On one side of the ship stretch
cables in a web-like arrangement. Around the ship people from the school are
burying the cables or the ship. There is no sign of Sarah so Laura and
Freddy are nervous. The PC must be careful of the aliens will be alerted.
The PC decide to carefully sneak up to the ship from a blind angle and see
if they can gather more information. Smith, Chan San, and Fox decide to
sneak up. As Smith and Chan San get close they start to feel something
entering their minds. They hear a strange voice that is commanding them to
bury wires. Chan San seems to be able to fight it off ok but Smith is having
more difficulty. The pair pull wires from the ship but it does not free
everyone from the control. After a couple of minutes controlled school
students reconnect the lines. This time Chan San breaks the lines so they
can’t be reconnected. This draws two aliens out of the ship. As soon as
the aliens emerge Lady Love, Fox, and Survivor teleport in and attack. Their
goal is to shut off the mind control then to free the hostages. | At this point a large brawl ensues. Chan San passes into the ship and is
surprised by the students and teacher. The super students and teacher have
strange headbands. Fox stops just before entering the ship as he detects
danger. Survivor jumps into the doorway taking a laser attack then destroys
the gun. Fox teleports in and tries to help Chan San. Smith sits on the roof
of the ship picking off aliens. Lady Love fights the two aliens who are
outside but she is not doing well against the mind control. Fox holds off
the students who can’t seem to be able to strike him while Chan San jumps
up a ladder to fight aliens. Survivor follows and guesses which panel is the
mind control device. He chooses the right panel as a couple of well placed
blows later the two are able to disable the mind control device. Disabling
the device knocks out the supers with the headbands and frees the rest of
the faculty and students who are burying cables. | At this point the aliens are in a losing situation. Desperately they hit a
self destruct switch on the craft. Quickly the PC take out the aliens and
start moving everyone to safety. As they get out of the valley the ship
explodes in a huge ball of fire! | After the battle PC talk with the students and Shroud. It appears that the
PC have made some new friends. The PC leave before authorities arrive. | |
| The splash page shows Jeff and Janice at Neptune’s Bounty, a chic new
restaurant in San Francisco. They are nicely dressed. Janice is wearing a
red sheath dress with a long leg slit. In the first few pages they begin to
talk about “fate” and their relationship. Jeff says it was pure chance
but Janice muses that fate is more like a starting point. She argues that
what you do with what fate hands you is really what matters. As part of her
argument Janice mentions her parents and childhood. When she ask Jeff about
it he completely refuses to speak with her about it. A bit later Adrian and
Tracy from the Daily Planet arrive. They say hello and talk a bit of shop
before returning to their dinner. Janice then excuses herself to powder her
nose. Immediately afterwards some thugs bust into the place! They start
waving around guns. Thinking it best to wait Jeff delays until the hoods
leave the place. As they leave he follows them out. Once outside he see the
thugs get into a getaway car. He zaps the driver then hears a swooshing
sound overhead. Silhouetted in the moonlit sky he sees a woman in a black
costume with a raven motif on her chest. She speaks confidently, “Hey
fellas, the nights still young…why don’t you stick around for a while
and show this lady a good time!” With that she hurls a black bolt of
energy in the shape of a large raven into the engine of the car. When the
smoke clears there is a large hole through the entire engine compartment.
Quickly she glides down to the roof and blasts one of the hoods with many
smaller energy bolts. The inside of the car erupts in blood! The other man
turns to run but is stopped by Jeff. Raven then pins the last thug to the
ground with her energy bolts. Adrian and Tracy quickly run out and are very
happy when they realize Jeff got everything on film. Jeff hands the camera
to Tracy when she tells him about the cops. As Jeff is leaving the scene he
wishes the men did not see him take the pictures. Later at the police
station Jeff discovers that the men do not remember him taking pictures! He
realizes that his mental powers are growing and changing…| Now there is a bunch of news… |
It’s Saturday morning and the PC go about their various activities. Chan
San continues to research the strange black beast that emerged from Survivor
but the information on the scrolls has been exhausted. He will have to look
for more information. While the PC eat breakfast there is a knock at the
door then it opens with a key turn. Laura goes to the front door and meet
her daughter, Sarah. They exchange pleasantries. Sarah mentioned that she is
back from school. When Sarah enters the kitchen and sees the heroes lounging
around the kitchen she stops in shock. Laura quickly tries to assuage her
rage by explaining that she did not want to tell her this information while
she was at school. Laura muses that with the mind control incident it was
lucky she did not tell her anything. Still stunned Laura begins to introduce
the PC. Freddy kisses his daughter calling her, “Carrot Top.” Sarah then
takes her mom by the shoulder and leaves the room. In the other room the PC
hear her arguing with her mother in a heated tone. Sarah storms upstairs in
anger. | Jeff spends most of Saturday with Adrian and Tracy. He write up a story
for the paper based on his perceptions of the incident at the restaurant.
Jeff also deletes the photos from the other PC at the office. He then looks
into some journalism classes and finally starts to research blue skinned
people on his computer. | Smith gets a call from his friend Pete. Pete urgently wants to speak with
Smith. Smith goes to visit Pete in jail. Pete explains that he was visited
by a strange red imp like creature. This creature told Pete that he believed
that he was responsible for the break in at Surcom. He then asks Pete if he
is hiding super disguise and/or object summoning powers or creatures with
these powers. The imp says his name is Daemon. Smith realized that this
might be the creature Jeff spoke about earlier. [Note that I remembered
that the PC DO know about the imp. See Issue #3 above. Jeff actually changed
into the creature to show the PC what it looked like. Smith even remembered
that the imp looked like the statue he broke when gaining his powers.] | Chan San, now at the herb shop, receives an invitation for a dinner with
Ma Lin Yao at her restaurant. The invitation is the following Tuesday night. | Windage meets Maria Chow at a park. Maria explains that she has reason to
believe that Survivor is NOT a criminal as the rest of the organization
believes. She describes being saved by Survivor in the explosion at the
pregnancy clinic. Maria asks Windage to communicate with her directly. She
also asks Windage to help her prove this theory to the rest of UNTIL.
Windage agrees but has trouble believing that UNTIL has been lying to the
public. He wants to figure out for himself what is up with Survivor. | Later Saturday night Lady Love decides that she is going on patrol. Freddy
and Sarah are concerned but she feels it is time for her to be seen. A few
minutes later Jeff arrives as he is done with his research. Jeff meets Sarah
and even created a customer CD for her with some street tunes. Lady Love
calls on the team radio to inform them that there are fires at a factory
across the bay in Alameda. The PC fly to the scene in a copter created by
Smith. At the factory the PC find a raging beast who calls himself Leviathan
and a group of huge crabs. He appears to be wrecking Byron Petrochemicals
claiming that they are polluting the oceans of the world. The PC manage to
saves some security guards, scare away the crabs, and knock Leviathan back
into the bay. Sky Fire and Windage stay around to help put out fires and
meet with the media. The rest of the PC escape in a boat created by Smith. | |
| First there is some news…
On Sunday the heroes go about their daily business. Jeff takes an online
writing class. Smith attends a boat show. Survivor lounges around the house.
Chan San walks around Chinatown where he discovers a lot of concern over
some recent gang violence. | Heroes are alerted to an incident at the Golden Gate Bridge. It appears
that Leviathan has blocked off the mouth to the Bay using two oil tankers.
The PC gather and approach the bridge in a Smith speedboat. Other cutters
can’t seem to approach as seaweed is clogging their props. The PC grab
Leviathan and start to take him down. With several mind attacks from Jeff
the villain is severely weakened. As the PC close the fight the water erupts
in bubbles and four blue salamander looking men emerge from the water
bearing spears. One of the men spears Leviathan taking him down. The PC talk
with the men using a magical pearl and discover that they are Atlanteans and
that Leviathan is a Lemurian. (Lemurians are considered ancient foes by the
Atlanteans.) They have come to the area to track a fugitive from their realm
known as Professor Piscean. The PC agree but ask for help in tracking the
criminal. The men tell the PC that they should travel to Atlantis to talk
with their queen. The PC first hand over Leviathan to UNTIL then join the
fish men with pearls from Smith. | The PC travels for three days under the water. They are then led into the
mystical city of Atlantis. It is Roman in design. They see lots of
Atlanteans going about their business. They are brought by Commander Krakow
to meet Queen Mara. The Queen tells the PC of Professor Piscean and his
crimes. She shows them a picture of a frightening creature with crab claws
and tentacles. Queen Mara explains that Professor Piscean uses technology
not magic. She describes his terrible sonic ray and a growth beam. The PC
analyze the ray using a Smith microscope. They find lots of components from
Surcom. Windage takes the device and plans to work on a dampening device.
During the trip Chan San watches the Atlanteans practice a strange form of
martial arts and visits a local herb shop. Smith asks their court mage about
small red demons. The mage says he will do some research while commenting
that Smith is highly magical. Survivor leaves a radio with the Queen which
they can use to communicate with the team. | The PC leave in a plane then a jet. Before leaving Smith treats Commander
Krakow to a brief flight. It stuns the Atlantean. When the PC return to SF
they go their separate ways. Jeff is chastised by Janice so he gives her his
pearl. She is not happy but she is glad to see that he is ok. Jeff calls
Jinx and discovers that Amp is home! Chan San discovers that the party was
to be held in his honor. He did not know this and promptly apologizes. The
party is rescheduled. Survivor and Windage hear about a large prison break
at Stronghold. Several villains escaped during the confusion. The footage
from one camera shows Vapor shutting off a protective barrier then White
Dwarf teleporting into view. White Dwarf messes with the door controls and
opens the main portal into the confinement room. At that point Dr. Omega and
Jinx enter the scene. Jinx ducks as automated gun turrets explode. Dr. Omega
protects the duo with green glowing force shields. When Dr. Omega reaches
the main computer console a chest cavity opens and a small red imp walks
out. The imp causes the console to glow and all of the cells start to drain
of their liquid. The group grabs their teammates and escapes. Several other
villains attempt to flea at the same time. Some are able to escape while
others are recaptured. Here is a list of the villains who were freed. Those
that were recaptured are marked as such. |
After viewing the footage Windage scouts out the corporate headquarters
for Surcom. He gets Carson’s password then attempts to enter their system.
Almost immediately he is caught by someone and asked questions. The PC
assume this is the small red imp. At that point security guards enter the
room and Windage leaves. When he returns to Carson’s office he is leaving.
Windage follows Carson to his house in Tiberon. He listens to Carson and the
imp for a bit then takes off. | |
| The PC have some clues to finding Professor Piscean but instead decide to
wait for a bit and do their own thing. Jeff decides to go to the Daily
Planet and write up an article on the incident at the Golden Gate
Bridge. As he leaves he is secretly followed by two FBI agents.| Later Smith leaves to go sailing. As he is traveling to the docks the
savvy hero realizes that he is being followed. He calls the house and
informs them of the situation. He then leads the tail towards Concord where
he ditches him. At the house Jeff approaches a watcher in a beat up pickup
truck as a cop. The man promptly shows Jeff a badge which reveals him as FBI
agent Ron Coomer. Jeff shakes the man’s hand and learns that he is
following the mysterious writer Jeff to find out how he is able to get such
good photos of the rogue superheroes. Jeff walks down the street then ego
blasts Agent Coomer until he is knocked out. He then puts him in the back of
his truck and drives off. Jeff leaves the agent parked under the Bay Bridge
then changes his memories so that the man believes he has a nice
conversation with Jeff and that the lead is a dead end. Jeff tells the PC
that the issue is “resolved” and that he did not kill anyone. | Jeff then mentions the phone number for Dr. Omega to the team. The group
decides to call Windage to ask him to help them trace the call. Windage and
Smith examine the pay phone and plan a listening device and a forwarding
line. They trace the call through UNTIL to a company called Green River.
Windage then searches the phone setup at Green River and learns that three
are three lines entering and leaving. It is a simple switching station. The
number from the payphone is being forwarded to a Mario Palermo. Mr. Palermo
is a wealth industrialist who lives in Atherton. | The PC travel to the Palermo mansion and start snooping around. Windage
sees Amp and Lynx and reports this to the team. He then finds an air vent
and enter a secret base. The base is protected by an advanced security
system which actually triggers an alarm. In the lab Windage surprises
Zadkiel, Vermin, and Dr. Omega who is out of his armored robotic suit.
Taking the advantage Windage pummels the brain sending it sparking into the
wall! This disables the senses and flight of Dr. Omega. As Vermin tries the
flee with the brain in tow Chan San detects danger and the rest of the PC
crash literally into the house. They start a fight with the villains. Chan
San quickly takes out Vermin and Zadkiel. Survivor grabs the brain which
Chan San has ripped away from Vermin. Jynx seems distraught when Survivor
grabs the brain of Dr. Omega! She starts begging Survivor not to hurt
“Father”. Lynx then begs Rian (aka Jeff) to help her get Father away
from Survivor. Rian is incensed and tell Lynx that she and Dr. Omega are
going to jail. Soon Protoplasm and Slag enter the scene. Smith does some
serious damage on Protoplasm and Slag using his M-16. Rian blasts at Slag
and Jynx as they keep attacking. The entire time Windage is flying around
the room thrashing people. In a climactic scene Survivor blocks Slag long
enough for the others to knock him out! As the fight ends Vermin, now in
human form, sneaks away. | After the fight the PC call Maria (i.e. UNTIL) then begin to leave.
Survivor takes the brain and waits for UNTIL to get closer. While talking
with Jeff, Lynx reveals that Dr. Omega just wants to become immortal and
that he is not evil. Windage and Jeff then get into an argument about what
to do with Dr. Omega’s robotic body. Windage wants to turn it over to
UNTIL and Jeff wants to take it. In the end Jeff beats up the armor using a
hammer and Windage stays around to meet with UNTIL. The villains are turned
over the UNTIL for imprisonment. | |
| There is a small news story that Reactor has returned to the Bay Area
after several successful missions in Iraq. To date there are no major
changes in the US approach to events in Iraq.| There is a small subplot where Jeff returns home and speaks with Janice.
He relays that the problem has to do with stuff in his past. Janice tries to
help but Jeff says he can handle it. Janice says she has to do some work in
Oakland the next couple of nights. Jeff decides that he wants to speak with
Jynx and Dr. Omega in Stronghold. | Chan San Feng with Smith as his guest attend a very fancy dinner which is
thrown by Ma Lin Yao at her Celestial Lion restaurant. The room is
beautifully decorated and sports a large picture window. (Smith cases the
joint and finds high end security.) The guests include the following folks: |
During the party Adam mentions to Chan San that he has seen another of
those scrolls at the Museum of Modern Art. After pleasantries and a nice
dinner Ma Lin addresses Chan San Feng in a long speech. She starts by
explaining their current problem with local gangs. Two gangs in particular
are fighting and causing loss of life to many of Chinatowns young men and
woman. It is something that does not bode well of their future. The gangs
include the Harmonious Fists led by a former Foxbat associate and the On
Leong tong’s gang, the Black Asps, run by a ruthless man known as Jimmy
“Three Fingered” Ho. During the conversation when the Harmonious Firsts
are mentioned Smith notices that Wilson gives a slight wince. After the
speech she stands and raises her glass. The others wait for Chan San to
stand. When he does the rest stand and clink glasses. As the glasses part
Chan San’s danger sense goes off! Weihong starts to fall away from the
table. A bullet hole appears in her chest and large amounts of blood start
seeping out the back of her chest. Chan San catches Weihong as he and Smith
see a strange figure on another rooftop tip his hat in their direction then
leave. The man is wearing a tall hat and appears to be dressed in cowboy
attire. Ma Lin moves to Weihong’s side. In Chinese Weihong speaks to Ma
Lin, “Follow your heart…[cough]…follow your heart my Jade Dragon
Queen.” | With that the PC set several things into effect. They call Survivor who
arranges with Maria to deliver some UNTIL data on the killer through Windage
(i.e. “Air Mail”). The information describes the killer as a man known
as Ghost Town. He is a mob hit-man with a reputation of never failing a
mission. He is known to be able to turn into a ghost which has allowed him
to evade capture in the past. His only permanent associate is a woman known
as Pumpkin Jill. She is a practitioner of magic. As a group they call
themselves the Halloween Party. Their only MO is that the hold rages on full
moons. | As the characters decide what to do Survivor comes up with a plan of
telling everyone that Weihong is still barely alive and that she is
recovering at a local hospital. The PC wait in ambush hoping to surprise
Ghost Town and his compatriots. Late the following night Chan San detects
two forms in the room which are invisible. He surprises them and jumps the
large figure. After planting his foot into Ghost Town the assassin shoots
the body in the bed, which is cleverly Jeff shape shifted. Again Ghost Town
tips his hat and say, “Contract Complete.” This time he realizes it is a
trap and alerts folks over a radio. With close by help from Smith, Windage,
and Jeff, Chan San takes out Pumpkin Jill and Ghost Town. Pumpkin Jill
seemed very concerned about Ghost Town and even healed him during the combat
with a spell. Outside Survivor was greeted by two villains. A female brick
was moving to the room with a man in a scarecrow costume. While the
scarecrow tries to freeze Survivor in fear the woman starts throwing
punches. With some fancy combat the PC are able to take down the group. The
two villains outside are known as Straw Man and Living Dead Girl. The PC
call UNTIL to clean up. | The next morning (now Tuesday) Smith and Chan San visit the scroll in the
museum. They are met by a strange man wearing clothes from the 60’s.
James, as he tells the PC, seems to get along very well with Chan San and
even appears to know several ancient Chinese dialects. The trio heads back
to his house for tea. The mans house if full of antiques and papers. It is
quite a mess. He also has a pet raven in a cage. As the PC get comfortable
the man grabs books from his shelf. The raven sees Smith and starts saying
“Pretty Boy” over and over again. This makes James nervous. He asks the
PC if they know about the arcane arts. Chan San says that he is a priest and
Smith shrugs his shoulders. With that James grabs the bird who continues to
bark “Pretty Boy” and fluster his wings. The strange man raises his arms
and the doors slam and windows darken. He seems perturbed at Smith and asks
him why he uses demonic powers. Smith explains the little demon. The man
then explains that he is Professor James Odd and that he has appointed
himself the magical guardian of the planet Earth. He explains that the
little imp is known as a “Daemon”. They have powers to summon objects,
control machines, fool machines, teleport, and blast hellfire. He says that
they are very craft. He also mentions that they can be controlled by magical
means or by knowing their true name. Prof Odd says they are hurt by holy
items. With that Chan San and Prof Odd go about researching the scrolls. | Later on when Survivor is told of the man he claims to have met him
several years ago. | |
| First there is some news:
Chan San and Prof Odd get some answers from the scrolls and books at his
site. They deduce that a reference in the scrolls to, “a rising sun as to
a new day”, refers to the dark creature that escaped from Survivor and the
Golden Child of ancient Chinese mythology. The scrolls also foretell of a
cataclysmic event which will transpire related to this forces in only 3
days. Chan San returns to the house to tell the others. | Survivor calls Maria on her cell phone. She is very vague and refers to
Survivor as “Jon”. It appears that she feels her conversation may be
monitored. Survivor sends Windage to pick her up. Windage picks up Maria and
returns to the house. | Smith travels in disguise to the hearing. As the trial progresses it is
apparent that the lawyers he hired are doing a great job. During the opening
arguments Carson, the president of Surcom, enter the courtroom! As he is a
major celebrity it disturbs the case momentarily. Carson intentionally sits
on the row with Smith. When he sees a small red imp peak out of Carson’s
coat, Smith gets nervous and leaves the courtroom. As he leaves the creature
appears on his shoulder! The creature tells Smith he is going to take back
his power and bites him! This huge flow of energy ensues. Smith grabs the
small imp and throws him off. Smith tries to summon a gun but it is very
difficult! Smith then shoots the small imp stunning him several times before
he kills the creature. The gunshots alert the courthouse who starts to chase
him. After some trouble Smith summons a motorcycle and escapes back to the
house. At the house he summons money and jewels until his power completely
vanishes. | Rian changes in a UNTIL scientist who was leaving Stronghold. He wants to
speak with Dr. Omega and Jynx. As he enters the place he mind wipes guards
along the way. During his travel to Dr. Omega’s cell he see Jimmy Dugan
giving the Warden an interview. He also sees Leviathan being taken away by
some guards. As he opens the cell door the scene changes. | At the house with the PC Maria reveals to Survivor that she has
information about Project Phoenix. (Project Phoenix is the one Survivor
interrupted when he was framed.) The information is being stored in
Stronghold. | Back at Stronghold Dr. Omega and Rian talk. Dr. Omega tells Rian that he
thinks it is ironic that he can create such wonderful life but he can’t
preserve his own. Rian tell Dr. Omega that he should leave Jynx alone. Dr.
Omega laughs and issues an order over the intercom. He appears to have some
type of control over Stronghold computers! As the door opens Rian is met by
the other villains. They throw him into the cell with Jynx. After talking
with Jynx, Rian realizes that she has realize Dr. Omega is not a nice man.
Rian radios the PC and alerts them to the problem at Stronghold. | The PC race to Stronghold. It appears that the villains have barricaded
themselves into the 4th and 5th floors. They have Jimmy Dugan held hostage.
They have also released Grond to help them! The PC scout the situation
carefully then attack using a diversion. Quickly the PC start to gain the
upper hand. Chan San attacks Amp after having just phased through the floor.
Survivor transports several of the PC down the elevator shaft. Smith, using
borrowed weapons, attacks his nemesis, Protoplasm. Rian convinces Grond by
changing his memories that Dr. Omega tricked him and that he is not on his
side. This causes Grond to get very pissed off! Windage attacks several
villains in rapid strafing attacks. Jynx starts to hex Slag then anyone who
threatens to harm Dr. Omega. Jimmy is threatened and the villains fight back
but are eventually knocked out by the PC. During the end of the battle Rian
mentally attacks Dr. Omega. The attack is filled with such rage that it
permanently wipes out all memories from Dr. Omega before that date. He has
forgotten everything including the fact that he is a supervillain! All of
this action is caught on Jimmy’s camera! | In a hidden lab Survivor shows the evil experiments that are getting
conducted on inmates. This break Project Phoenix wide open and acts to clear
his name! As the cameras close Jimmy is shaking Survivor’s hand, “I’m
glad your around to protect us…” | |
